Biography

Umang Sheth is an esteemed speaker, counsellor and change enabler renowned for his significant contribution to the LGBTQIA+ community in India. He co-founded Mr n Mr in 2021, an innovative gay match making initiative designed to help individuals find life partners in a healthy and supportive environment. His dedication to mental health and community support is evident in his founding of “The Hugging Club Of India” in 2017, which provides essential support to LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies dealing with mental illness.

Umang’s journey as an LGBTQIA+ rights and support champion began with “gay Bombay in 1998. India’s first social support group for the LGBTQIA+ community highlighting his long-standing commitment to creating inclusive and safe spaces.
Over the 25 years, he has played an important role in sensitising society and promoting acceptance of alternate sexualities.
