KANISHKA RANAWEERA

Kanishka Ranaweera currently holds the position of Head - Human Resource at Bharti Airtel Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. Kanishka is instrumental in redefining the HR strategy of Sri Lanka Airtel businessoperation, in line with overall business strategy. Airtel HR strategy was recognized as the “Best HR strategy in line with business” in recently concluded Employee Brand Awards conducted by World HRD Congress 2017.

He also made significant contribution to improve the employee brand of the company which resulted in Airtel winning the “Employer Brand Award“ at the Sri Lanka Best Employer Brand Awards 2017.

Kanishka process over 12 years of HR leadership experience in different industries including Telecommunication, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Shipping & Freight forwarding , Insurance etc… in well reputed global MNC’s & local blue chip organizations . Kanishka held the position of Head HR in Glaxo Smithkline Supply chain & pharmaceutical divisions. Under Kanishka’s leadership GSK Sri Lanka supply chain division won many regional & global awards including“ GSKGlobal Winning Performance Awards” for best talent management practices for year 2013.

Kanishka is a proud product of RoyalCollege Colombo&he holds Bachelor and Master Degree qualification in Business Administration from University of Colombo. Also he isa Lawyer by profession having passed Attorney - at - Lawexamination with an honors pass from Sri Lanka Law college.

Currently he is a visiting faculty member of the University of Colombo MBA programme.
