Mary Teagarden is Professor of Global Strategy at Thunderbird School of Global Management. Mary received her Ph.D. in Global Strategic Management from the University of Southern California.
Dr. Teagarden’s research focuses on Global Competitiveness and Capability Building in the Asian Pacific Rim, Latin America and emerging market economies, including India and the People’s Republic of China. She has been frequently recognized by the corporate and academic worlds for her teaching and research excellence. Mary is currently exploring Global Mindset and benchmarking Best International Human Resource Management Practices. Mary is completing two books: one--Sustainable Development: Strategies, Motivations and Mindsets--and a second, Human Resource Excellence in Hyper Turbulent Talent Markets.
Dr. Teagarden’s consulting and executive development experience focuses on global strategy formulation and implementation. Her clients include a variety of high technology companies in the telecommunications, computer, aerospace and pharmaceutical industries, major oil and gas companies, and service providers in IT, healthcare, consumer electronics and shipping among others. She has consulted to governments in Mexico, Colombia, Albania, and the People’s Republic of China. Mary has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, CCTV, ABC, PBS, and KJZZ. She has been interviewed by numerous media outlets including the Financial Times, Harvard Business School Working Knowledge for Business Leaders, CIO and IEEE Spectrum.
Dr. Teagarden is editor of Thunderbird International Business Review and sits on seven editorial boards. Mary serves as a Director of GlobalVantage, a high tech design firm, and 4Stones, a cross-cultural communications firm, the West Valley Child Crisis Center, a non-profit, and is on Advisory Boards at Televerde, a near shoring firm, and Huawei, a Chinese high tech giant.
