Dr. Araoz holds a Law Degree (LL.B.), two Master's Degrees (German, Literature and Comparative Education), a Ph.D. (in Cross-cultural Counseling Psychology), and a German Teacher's Diploma. Dr. Araoz was given the NRI Institute Award for outstanding contributions to the image of India abroad.
