Varun Bhatia is Vice President, Human Resources for Asia Pacific, and is based at Kraft Foods’ regional headquarters in Singapore. Varun is a member of the Asia Pacific Leadership team leading the development of Human Resources strategies and plans to support the business growth in Asia Pacific’s dynamic and rapidly evolving multicultural markets.
Varun joined Kraft Foods in 2008 from Procter & Gamble (P&G) where he was Vice President, Human Resources for the Beauty & Health Global Business Unit, Asia Pacific. Previously, Varun spent more than 16 years with Gillette in various positions around the world, including leading the company’s HR Global Shared Services Organization. This involved the strategic reorganization of the HR function, and creation of a new global HR model in the areas of talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, learning and development, etc. He managed a team of over 150 HR staff supporting more than 28,000 employees worldwide. Varun has extensive international experience in the areas of business and organization design, coaching, leadership development, cross cultural integration and managing mergers and acquisitions.
Varun’s career has seen him involved in global, regional and country levels of operations across multiple organizations in Europe, North America and Asia.
Varun has a bachelor’s degree in Economics with a post-graduate major in Human Resources from XLRI, India. He has also been trained in organizational behavior and corporate finance at Harvard University and the London Business School. Varun is a member of several professional associations such as the American Chamber of Commerce Singapore where he is the Chairman of the Human Capital Committee, The Corporate Leadership Council, The Corporate Executive Board, Asia Pacific and the Society of Human Resources Management, USA. |
