Sebastian brings with him about 20 years of HRD experience. Following his departure from the Singapore Armed Forces, where he served as a regular serviceman, Sebastian began to build his career in Human Resource Development; beginning with a number of skills based training programmes that from Communication, Service to Leadership. Some of the many companies he had consulted for include; Baxter Healthcare, Apple Computer, Asia Matsushita, Union Bank of Switzerland, Siemens Medical Pte Ltd, KandangKerbau Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Allen & Gledhill, Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Finance, Civil Service College, Tan TockSeng Hospital, Epson Asia, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Singapore Press Holdings, and other successful organizations.
He joined the Healthcare Industry where he was the Head of Institute of Management and Allied Health Sciences (IMAS) at National Healthcare Group (NHG) College. At IMAS, he was responsible for the Master Training Plan for the cluster of hospitals which encompasses the training and development of the over 11 000 staff. He also designed, developed and delivered many of the programmes for IMAS, including Cluster Induction Programmes, Performance Management, Leadership, Personal Effectiveness, strategic planning workshops and many others. Besides being involved in Training and Development, heconducted a research in Tan TockSeng Hospital on Leadership Development using OEL and he went on to publish his research in 2004 in the Annals of Academy of Medicine Singapore, the first Human Resource related article to be published in a leading Medical Journal.
Always an explorer, he then joined The Ascott Group an international hospitality organization that spans over 47 cities in over 18 countries. As the Training Director of Europe, he had successfully developed and implemented a Training Roadmap for 46 properties in France, United Kingdom, Brussels, Germany and Spain. He was also responsible for training many of the identified programmes, including Coaching, Leadership, Customer Service. Following his return from Europe, Sebastian was seconded to the Ascott Centre for Excellence (ACE) where he was responsible for the implementation of the Certificate in Hotel and Accommodation programme under the Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) system. He was also acted as a Developer and an Assessor for the Certificate and Diploma programmes accredited under Workforce Development Agency (WDA). Lately, he has rejoined Training Vision, having brought with him his vast experience and knowledge.
Being a Gen X leader in the field of HRD, he has also presented on how Gen-Y can be better engaged and motivated at the “Women’s Conference” organised by the Singapore Management University Wee Kim Wee Centre along with conducting a training workshop for MBA students at the SP Jain Center of Management, He also works as a community member in charge of training with the Student Volunteer Corps here in Singapore.
