Amita took over as the new WIN and Diversity Lead for the Deloitte US India Offices, in 2009. She has over 25 years of work experience, in areas of talent management, retention strategies, business and diversity management. She has had the opportunity to work both in the United States and India, for several years.

Amita has worked extensively in the development as well as the corporate sectors. She started her career in India, but later moved to the United States, where she worked for public and private sector organizations, including the Smithsonian Institution, and did a brief assignment with the UN, in New York. After moving back to India, Amita was associated for several years, with an organization that focused on socio-economic inclusivity for the under-privileged. Prior to joining Deloitte, Amita worked with an IT firm where she was Responsible for influencing the design, development, delivery, and measurement of initiatives, strategies, and processes as they relate to diversity and inclusion. She also developed training and sensitization programs & contributed to Learning & Development initiatives

In addition to gender and cultural inclusivity, Amita is passionate about corporate social responsibility, environmental conservation, cinema and travel.
