Aliya Hasal graduated from Mumbai University with a degree in Sociology. In 1993, she married Vinod and travelled with him to South Africa. She looked after their two children, Vinodini and Shvetank, and then joined Vinod in running dance classes and putting together a series of major events and functions for the dance school.

Aliya is exceedingly humble about her achievements, but her dynamic and entrepreneurial nature was the driving force behind the establishment of the Drum Café in India in 2008. Aliya has worked on very aspect of the business and has charmed the most high profile clients with her engaging personality and her business acumen.
