Dr. Adel S. Aldosary is a Professor and Chairman of the Department
of City and Regional Planning and Acting chairman of the Architecture
Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
He received his PhD in 1991 in Urban,
Technological & Environmental Planning Urban & Regional
Planning from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA.
He received a number of honors and awards for his active involvement
in research and teaching. He is awarded with Distinguished Academic
Performance award for 14 consecutive years.
He worked as a Consultant in Dammam Municipality, Office of the
HE the Minister of Higher Education, Supreme Commission on Tourism,
SK-Telecom ( South Korea), Secretary general of Qassim Chamber of
Commerce & Industry, and Industrial Development Division, Saudi
Aramco. He was a member in The National Comprehensive Training Plan
for Saudi Arabia. He worked as the Team Leader in Labor Market Study.
Dr. Aldosary has supervised 18 MS thesis (two of which were for
Italian graduate students in Italian universities). He is the Principal
Investigator in many of the KFUPM and public agencies funded projects.
Dr. Aldosary is a member of several
national and international organizations and on several International
Refereed Journals Editorial Boards. He is the Director of the National
Atlas of Saudi Arabia, KFUPM. He was listed in the 19th edition
of Marquis Who’s Who in the World 2002 and 2003. He has 64
research papers published in reputed international journals and
has reviewed many proposals and papers for funded projects, local
refereed journals and local refereed conferences
His current research interests include
Urban Survey Analysis & Models, Manpower Planning & Demographic
Studies, urban Economics, Computer-Aided Planning, Urban Systems
& Policy Analysis, Urban & Regional Planning, and Applications
of Planning Theory.
